The Irony of It All

I was getting off of the bus today, and Jeff, the bus driver, says that I won't be able to get off on the side of the highway I get off right now, due to some kid who almost got hit here a couple of days ago. I get off on the ocean side of the highway and I cross, but apparently I can't anymore. For fuck's sake, in 6 months I'll be able to vote, but I won't be able to cross the highway by myself after school. It's not like there are elementary school students who take my bus, it's about 15 high school kids. Why should I have to sit on the bus for an extra 45 minutes when I am perfectly capable of crossing the highway? Some idiot made a stupid mistake, and here everyone else is paying for it. I can't stand it. Sure they're trying to protect us, but maybe they should back off a bit. They're like parents, and they want to protect us from everything, but sometimes you just have to let them go, and let them learn from their mistakes, and other people's mistakes. It's nuts.

On the lighter side of things, I played bass guitar today. Me and Steve were jamming in the band room during C block. I had alot of fun. I like bass guitar better than guitar, just because I don't like strumming, and it's just...beefier. :)Mmmmm so great.

It was Ms.Bodnar's last day as our student teacher today. We had a suprise party for her. We got her a cake and flowers and yeah, I'm going to miss her. She's one of my favourite student teachers yet.

Le Chanteurs et Chanteures de Printemps?

Spring Sing is tonight. Apparently I'm one of the few people who have never been to the Spring Sing tonight, judging by the weird look I got when I asked where this "Spring Sing" thing was. So I'm going over to Riley's after school unless he shows up here first.

I wrote a french test yesterday after school, because I missed it from work experience. I did really crappily on it, due to the fact that I mixed up futur anterior and conditionel anterior. *smacks head*. Oh well. Maybe it was just everyone else that screwed it up, not me....

BAH

School sucks. I pretty much failed a math test yesterday that sucks. It's not like it was a hard test, I just don't really care anymore. I don't want to be here, I don't want to have to stay afterschool for a stupid french test I missed because of work experience. I missed recording with the concert band, and that was something I was looking forward to. Stupid work experience. Sure I had fun and I got a job out of it, but...Band is better. I'm going to miss it next year. Along with everyone in band...Even Mr.Craven :P

Maybe I just need to find something to occupy my extra time with. Sure I should be putting time into learning Finnish...but I don't know. I've kind of had it with school, and that just reminds me of school. BAH.

Riley came to school today. We went out for lunch at Lefty's. It was fun. Then we walked back to the school and talked to Jarrett. Jarrett gave me my grad present early, even thought I told him he shouldn't get me anything. He gave me this awesome Finnish phrase book (Miksi naurat? Onko suomenkiekeni niin kehnoa? "Why are you laughing? Is my finnish that bad?"), a sketchbook to use as a journal/scrapbook, a couple of calendars with pictures of Victoria and the area and some pictures of Natives, and Canada pencils. He got my sister a couple of University of Victoria pencils too. I missed him alot. But he's back now, so that's cool. Very cool.

It sucks I have to write my French test tomorrow after school instead of today during class. It's not like we really accomplished anything either in class. Which sucks, because I was going to visit Riley during my spare and afterschool...:( But I guess that'll have to wait until Wednesday or so.

So I worked on Sat, and Sunday. Saturday was..exhausting. I did housekeeping in the am, and then I did some bussing. Gravy Girl!! I got to pour gravy on people's plates. It was ...pretty bad. I got tips though :D. So that was neat-o. We found some interesting things in the rooms....like a gay porn calendar on the bible ironically enough. Haven't you always wanted to open a drawer to find a picture of a naked guy lying on a bar with his ass in the air, and a martini glass on his ass? That's what I thought...

And the vaccum cleaner mysteriously found it's way back into the closet. I didn't put it there.....I turned around to say something to Michelle and it went from being on the couch, to being in the closet at the end of the hallways. Twas weird indeed.

Work experience r0xXx0r5. I worked at the front desk yesterday and today, and that was sooo much fun. I got to make reservations, check people in and out, and block rooms, answer phones...ooh boy it was fun. It was just awesome fun. I'm on call for them too, incase someone can't come in, and they need someone. Ooh and today we had Buddy around. Buddy's the resident ghost. He was playing with the bell in the kitchen. It's set up so when someone walks by a sensor it rings a door bell in the kitchen right? Well the bell kept ringing and no one was walking in or out of the restaurant where the thing is set up. Lol it was pretty neat. I like working in a haunted hotel:).I checked in these two guys who were extremely gay. They had the same last name, and they didn't look a thing alike. Not many brothers are touchy-feely and share a queen bed. All signs point to gay. That was kind of amusing. Then there was Murray being my lackey today. He got all the irons and ironing boards and brought them to rooms for me. Eww and he cleaned up the puke and feces on the stairs. That was just sick.

I went to see Kill Bill Vol.2 last night with Riley, Steve and Rob. It's a great movie. My favourite part was the part with the fish, or the guy and his beard. God it was funny. I went over to Riley's today too.

*flushes Geo down the drain*

Hm. I dropped geography today. That'll be interesting when my mom has to sign the sheet. Yesterday I didn't go, and she asked if I skipped. Seeing there was no way out aside from lying, I said I did skip. She suprisingly didn't really care but I shouldn't make a habit out of it. It was nuts. Then we were kind of talking about me dropping and she didn't really want me to, cause she thinks I should stick it out. I really don't want to, so if she won't sign the sheet, it'll suck. Alot. Meh. It's not like I go anymore anyways, so...Yeah.

School is such a joke now. It's middle of lunch, and I've gone to about 10 minutes of class. And that was only because I went down to the counselling center and hung out and talked to Mr.J. Good times.

So there's this grad car wash. Yay. I can hardly contain my excitement. Too bad I'm working. I won't be able to see my grad class act like idiots and wear practically nothing. Wait I can see that if I walk in the hallway....Damn?

Yesterday I did work experience again at the Heritage Inn. That was fun. I was in housekeeping, so I ended up making beds and cleaning all day. Meh, it wasn't as bad as it sounds. Turns out they're shortstaffed and need help, so I'm working there on weekends from now until...well whenever pretty much. I also got paid for all of yesterday so that's uber cool:). After work, I went to Reva's birthday party. We went minigolfing in the rain, and watched Kill Bill Vol.1 and Brother Bear, both good movies. Oh, and just because it was her 18th birthday, me and her went and bought some birthday candles for her cake, and porn, because she could. She got id'd. Twas funny.

I had a choir performance with the Welshmen's choir from Vancouver and Ballenas. The Welshmen's Choir was awesome. Ballenas was....different. They have a completely different mindset about choir than us. It seems like choir isn't really a priority (none of the male choir members showed up due to reasons I couldn't find out) and that it's not really important at all.

I had an interesting conversation on Friday with my mom. She was complaining about how I hadn't handed in a few things in some of my classes. I asked her if she had handed in everything in all of her classes in high school. I was astonished and thought that was an extremely bold statement to be making....Maybe two people I know, both of whom have graduated, have handed in everything assigned to them in their whole high school careers. Both of these people were over-achievers and didn't do much other than school and music. Then my dad came home and I asked him....and he claimed the same thing. So I brought up how we are expected to learn more, in less time, because of technology advances. So if anyone other than Jarrett or Phil has handed in every single assignment they have been assigned, no matter how insignifigant or small...let me know please. Email me at palapaloozaa@hotmail.com

Ewww Makeup...

I was in the Grad Fashion Show yesterday. That was interesting...I was told to be there at 5:30, but no one else was there. So I wandered around a bit, talked to some people I found in the kitchen and went back to the room. Riley and Steve and Shelly showed up, so I hung out with them for a bit and that was fun. Then I went back and was attacked by an eyelash curler. The first time I walked out I was thinking there were gonna be alot of people there. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be, and I actually had fun. Riley making faces at me:P The worst part was having to hang out in the girl's changing room...after 3 hours of "my hair, my makeup, my shoes, my dress" I was looking forward to something else, preferrably violent. There's a reason I don't hang out with all those people, and last night just emphasized the fact.

Holy fucking coincidences Batman! Okay, so on the Trailer Park Boys website it give bios on all the characters right? So J-Roc was apparently the host of Street Cents and Jonovision pre-Trailer Park Boys times. I used to watch Jonovision with Stephanie....whoooooaaa weird freaky times...
